WHEAT GRASS - growing and juicing
GROWING WHEAT GRASS :1. Choose organic, full, fat and healthy looking berries and soak in clean water overnight.
2. Drain and let sprout .
3. Fill a small pot or aluminium disposible food tray with a minimum of an of inch soil. Water the Earth, smooth it gently and spread the seeds over the over the pot so that each seed touches the other ( for max. density). Make sure there is enough drainage to let out excess water. You donot want the seeds to rot. Punch small holes in the aluminium trays with a fork if necessary.
4. Cover the pot with a dark plastic bag for darkness
5. After 3 days remove the cover and place the pot in the light of the sun. Water @ 1 ounce of water per day..
6. Let the grass grow for about 4-7 days more , unitl 7 inches high. The whole process may take upto 2 weeks, depending on the weather. Make sure the seeds and plants are not exposed to too cold temperatures. about 70 deg F is ideal.
7. You now have your very own, organic, fresh , in-home supply of wheat grass !
JUICING OF WHEAT GRASS :
1. Hold the grass blades on the top at one end of the pot, and with the other hand, cut close to the bottom ( make sure the soil does not come in ) with a sharp scissors. Cut out as much as necessary.
2. Wash ,Place the grass blades in a blender and blend really well and strain out the juice . Press out pulp through a cheese/ muslin cloth if necessary. Alternatively, ou could use special wheat grass juicers which cost over $ 200.00
3. Fresh juice should be consumed soon as extracted, on an empty stomach . Nothing should be taken for atleast 2 hours after drinking this juice. The diet throughout the day should be simple with plenty of fruit and veggies.
4. Drink about one to two fingers of juice a day depending on what suits your body.
